Nominating Team
The Nominating Team is established for the sole purpose of finding the next class of called church members for elders on the Session. Each Session class is currently set for seven elders. The Nominating Team’s membership is made up of the pastor, Clerk of Session, one additional Session member, and four church members nominated and approved by the congregation. Church members are on the Team for two year terms, with two members rolling off each year and two new members coming on. The Nominating Team stays idle for most of the year and kicks off its annual activities in early August. These activities include inserting an elders nominations form in Sunday bulletins for three to four Sundays, meeting to review nominations, calling nominated members to serve, and finalizing a new class slate to present to the congregation for approval. The final activity each year is the selection of the two new members for the Team for congregational approval.
